LineCue Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using LineCue ("the app"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the app.

2. Description of Service

LineCue is a script rehearsal app that allows users to:

  • Import and manage scripts (plays, screenplays, etc.)
  • Rehearse lines with text-to-speech playback and auto-cue speech recognition
  • Record and create scripts manually
  • Assign voices to characters for rehearsal

3. Account Registration

  • You must create an account to use LineCue.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
  • You must provide accurate and complete information when creating your account.
  • You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the app for any unlawful purpose.
  • Upload content that infringes on the intellectual property rights of others.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems or other users' accounts.
  • Use the app to distribute malware or other harmful content.
  • Abuse or overload our servers or third-party services through automated or excessive requests.

5. Content and Intellectual Property

  • Your Content: You retain ownership of all scripts and content you upload to LineCue. By uploading content, you grant us a limited licence to store, process, and display it to you within the app.
  • Our Content: The app's design, code, and branding are owned by LineCue. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the app.
  • Third-Party Content: You are solely responsible for ensuring you have the right to upload and use any scripts or content within the app.

6. Third-Party Services

LineCue uses third-party services (Google Firebase, OpenAI, ElevenLabs) to provide its functionality. Your use of the app is also subject to the terms and policies of these third-party providers.

7. Text-to-Speech and AI Processing

  • Script text is sent to third-party AI services (OpenAI for parsing, ElevenLabs for text-to-speech) for processing.
  • We do not use your content to train AI models.
  • Generated audio is cached temporarily for performance and is associated with your account.

8. Account Deletion

You may delete your account at any time from the Settings screen within the app. Deletion is permanent and removes all your data, including scripts, preferences, and stored audio.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

LineCue is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, LineCue and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the app.

11. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict of law principles.
