Overview
LineCue ("we", "our", "the app") is a script rehearsal app for actors and performers. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.
Information We Collect
Account Information
- Email address — used for authentication and account recovery.
- Display name — optional, used to personalise your experience.
Script Content
- Scripts you import or create — stored securely in our cloud database (Google Firebase Firestore) so you can access them across sessions.
- Character selections, voice assignments, and rehearsal preferences — stored per-script to remember your settings.
Audio Data
- Microphone audio — processed on-device for speech recognition during auto-cue rehearsal. Audio is not recorded, stored, or transmitted to our servers. Speech recognition uses Apple's on-device engine when available.
- Recorded script audio — if you use the recording feature, audio files are stored in Firebase Cloud Storage under your account and are accessible only to you.
Automatically Collected Data
- Crash logs and diagnostics — collected by Apple if you have opted in via your device settings. We do not use third-party analytics SDKs.
How We Use Your Information
- To provide and maintain the app's functionality.
- To authenticate your identity and secure your account.
- To store and retrieve your scripts and preferences.
- To generate text-to-speech audio for rehearsal (via ElevenLabs, using only the text of your script lines — no personal data is sent).

Data Storage and Security
- All data is stored in Google Firebase infrastructure with encryption at rest and in transit.
- Firestore security rules ensure users can only access their own data.
- API keys and secrets are stored server-side in Firebase Cloud Functions and are never exposed to the client.
Data Retention and Deletion
- Your data is retained as long as your account is active.
- You can delete your account at any time from the app's Settings screen. This permanently deletes all your data, including scripts, preferences, and any stored audio files.
- Account deletion is processed immediately via a secure server-side function.
Children's Privacy
LineCue is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your personal data (available within the app).
- Delete your account and all associated data (via Settings > Delete Account).
- Update your email, display name, and password (via Settings).
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this policy.
